RYA Sail and Power Practical Training Courses with Atsailing School
Practical Courses
At Atsailing we provide a range of Royal Yachting Association (RYA) practical courses, as well as several courses of our own design, to help you learn to sail and further develop those skills.
Please browse the full range from the extended menu on the left hand side.
Courses are run over 1 or 2 weekends or 5 days.
With a ratio of one instructor to four or five students, you receive full attention for your particular course. As a sailing school we like to “mix” students ie Competent Crew, Day Skipper etc as we have found that all benefit from this range of abilities. Whatever course you wish to take, all of us at Atsailing are confident that we can give you the very best RYA accredited training.
The following is included as part of any course:
- Accommodation on board our RYA/MCA approved yacht
- Professional instructor who will stay on board with you
- All freshly cooked meals on board from your arrival until you depart. Dinner each night can be onboard or ashore. However dining ashore is not included in the price
- Certificate for successful students
- Full safety equipment on board the yacht
- Waterproof clothing can be hired at £10 per course
Please bring a minimum amount of luggage (collapsible), and we recommend the following:
- Sleeping bag and pillow
- Wash kit & towel
- Deck shoes or boots (or non-marking soft shoes – white soles are a good sign!)
- Warm clothing.
- Shore clothes.
- Hat, gloves and sunglasses (perhaps also suncream!)
- RYA cruising logbook (if you already have one)
- Travel sickness remedy if required. Any other prescribed medication.
In addition, candidates for the RYA/MCA Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster assessments should also bring:
- Logbook or evidence of mileage/experience
- Passport photograph
- Cheque for the RYA assessment fee.
